After the
Jamboree the party continued will into the next morning.
It's just not Johnson valley without a few late
night Mickey Bombs to light up the night.

Saturday night crawling up Back Door (below)
As soon as
the Raffle was over a local live band hit the stage and
performed for a couple of hours...

and I arrived for this years Jamboree on Thursday.
Shortly after arriving we unloaded the trucks and went
up to Big Johnson to check out the trail. We ran the
lower section as a warm up for leading the Saturday run.

Friday we ran Wrecking Ball in the morning and
then in the afternoon we went over to run Back
Door. It took a few tries but Matt made it up
and over the famous back door cliff climb in the
Trail-Gear Formula Toyota.

Matt
Messer lead the Saturday run up Big Johnson. We
started out with 15 truck on the lower section
of the trail. At the top of the lower section
the twin rocks keeping watch over the upper
section scared off about 1/2 the drivers and
they exited the trail up and over the sand
dunes. The remaining 7 rigs completed the upper
section of Big Johnson. Once at the top, Matt
noticed the steep incline to the right. After
walking the hill to check out the exit, Matt
turned his rig up the canyon and slowly crawled
to the top. After Completing the climb the new
section of trail was named "Viagra" |

get to the start of Viagra, start at this rock
(right) at the end of Big Johnson and turn right
up the hill.
