The run started at about 9 am, it was organized
and hosted by The Hill Hoppers 4x4 Club, but
many other clubs and off road companies were in
attendance, and there to help. The event was so
popular with the local clubs that we had more
trucks then kids. That’s just another great
example of the kind of people that are involved
in this sport. Next year The Hill Hoppers are
going to expand the event to include other
organizations with needy kids, since the
volunteer turn out was so large.
Even the Forestry Department got into the act
this year with a fire demonstration that was
awesome, they even let the kids help extinguish
it with the fire hoses on the trucks. The
Forestry Department then gave out fire safety
tips and then let the kids get in the Fire
trucks and look around while they ran there
emergency lights and sirens. The kids loved it!
The Hill Hoppers fed everyone in attendance a
great lunch and a cool drink all at no charge,
just there way of saying “thanks for coming out
to help the kids”. The raffle started at noon
and everyone had a fist full of tickets. After
all there were some great donated prizes on the
line, a Power Tank, TG 6 shooter Knuckles and an
Warn Winch just to name a few. Everyone there
won something in the raffle, they even had
special red raffle tickets made for the kids so
they could get in on the fun to.
It was a great event, no one was hurt and
there were defiantly smiles on the faces of
those kids. The raffle was a success and more
money was raised for Big Brothers and Big
Sisters Organization then ever before, and 100%
of that money was donated.
