No problem man. I always get people wantin pics of my rear. :lol: :oops:

I bobbed approx. 20-22 inches off, I am not sure and NEVER measured before cutting but I have had several people tell me it is at least 20"s.

1st pic: You can see how much I cut off here. I wanted to keep it rounded but couldnt get the sheet metal I put on the back to curve around it right so I actually cut a touch more off later to make the back straight.

2nd pic: Here you can see how much original body was hacked off and then we bent the new sheet metal at 45* angles on each side so it wasnt straight across the back cause it looked SUPER gay that way, still isnt perfect but it is better than it would have been.

3rd pic: Here is when it is fully welded on and started the basic 1st coat of paint to keep it from rusting and then I go paint it fully later as well as make the angled paint lines on the side in back to make it blend in better and to help cover up the welds.

Just curious why you would want to use a heavy pig of an axle such as a 14 bolt??

Actually just realized its not a 14 bolt due to the fact its a camper special. I didnt get up under it to make sure when i got the truck because i knew those old C30's came with 14's. Well what it actually has a what as known as a Dana70 HD.

I actually orginally wanted a dana 60 front and rear.

I want super beef and full width axles.

I am trying to build what would be eventually as an ulitmate setup.

Just finished my SAS yesterday with a dana 44 front axle and a dana 70hd rear geared to 5.89 front and 5.86 rear. Runnin 5" TG springs, TG shackles rear shackles, sloped hanger, spring perches etc. Ran into some issues with my front shackle angle, so i might just outboard them under the frame to make up for the uneven stance. I welded my rear spiders, disk brake conversion in the rear, GM 1-ton master cylinder upgrade, removed the LSPV and put in a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve. I am runnin High steer as well. All sittin on a set of 36x12.50 goodyear mt II and military beadlocks. Hopefully i can get a set of good trail tires here in the near future and some shocks..lol

Damn guys I wish I could afford some of the stuff you guys have, I've been into rock crawling and prerunning for a while and just obtained my first toyota pu, planning to do a lot to it but nothing you guys have, just mild, lockers, gears, armor, mild suspension, problem is, that im only 16 and I have a minmum wage job so Its real hard for me to get stuff for my truck, I have plenty of experince in mechanics from all the years, but cant wait till christmas, I'll have my locker then Wooo! But Im definetly happy with my truck, and hope to have some good times with it, kinda poser I know. Looks alot different now, those are the pics from the internet from the guy I bought it from, need to get a camera!

1990 4Runner 2 door with rear soft top. 305 Chev V8, Edelbrock cam, intake, carb, pete jackson gear drive, headers with dual 2.5" exhaust, 700R4 4spd trans with a Marlin Crawler dual case set up which is protected by an All-Pro X-Member with disc e-brake. Chev 1ton m/c with rear disc, 5.29 gears, rear welded, front cross-over steering and hy-pinion, dual batteries, 1750watt power inverter, on board air, 16gal fuel cell, warn winch, Sas front and 63" chevy rear springs with drop shackles. Plus a crazy amount of other doodads.

obviuosly he wheels it hard and the light aint broke yet. technically it aint a rock light since it doesn't point down. it points forward like a headlight.

Here's my during construction pictures...it's easy to remove IFS Junk with a Plasma Cutter. Should be SFA shortly. i'm also running 63' Chevy springs in the rear.

Plans for Gears 5.29's front and rear (front high pinion and haven't decided on which locker...rear get's 5.29 with detroit hard locker) 4.70 transfer case 37x12.50x10 MT/R's...sliders, AllPro bed kit, full exo and haven't decided on a front bumper yet. Still looking for a good one. It's getting there. Front frame prep is now complete just need to do some measuring and tap the front end up. I'll have a write up when i'm done.

it has 33 14.50 ssr's on 15 by 12 rim. 5.29s front and rear and tru-track limitid slips and 4 and a half " superlift. weber carb and a few other mods

I've got about 3 inches of lift... if that via an old set of All Pro's original Buggy Springs and 1 inch longer shackles (2.5 inch longer in rear to compensate for my tool box). I just hacked up the firewall and fenders so I could fit the 35s and not extend the bump stops in the rear.

mine as of a week ago, now it is stripped down to a bare chassis, the motor is gone, the dual cases and twinsticks are pending sale, and the axles and steering are going under a tin top sammi, along with a t/g 6.5 to 1, a mighty kong t-case skid/bracket. It will be nice having a windsheild and cold a/c for a change. and the abitlity to hop on top of the snow....if it ever snows again.

that exhaust is off the truck now just need it for deq. the coils work really well other then some tryed to clock the real axel and didn't rotate the mounts when they did it so I'm going to put it back to where it is right. Anyone know where I can get the short side axel? Have a hell of a time finding one. Also anyone in the vancouver, wa area want to go wheelin?

the front hanger is beefy (got to see it in person) found the guy that built the truck and he say it has jeep springs up front they work really well.

How about some details on the rear chevy set up? What shackles, exta leaves? It looks level.
I'm trying to decide on either chevy's or TG rear. I'll be ordering the TG front here pretty soon and am planning for 35's. Thanks.

rear's are three leaves plus over load (4 leaves total), 4.5in. blocks, double shackles (chevy lowering shackles i think they are 2in lowering shackles w/ toyota 1.5in lift shackles)..it sits about 2in higher than the front.

built half doors
change the suspension
new clutch, clutch master, and slave cylinder
opened up the rear fenders
rock lights and a crap load of little things

The exo is in the building stages right now! :cool: Then it will be painted one color!! :thumbs: The funny part about this is.... at this time last year I didn't even know I wanted a toyota!:D
