We have a 4 link system in mind for the Pickup but I don't know if it will fit the 4Runner.

The 4Runner is already set up with a factory 4 link.
I'm not sure what would be involved to lift the rear, maybe just taller coils and stonger arms, but a 5" rear lift would be ideal.

You can use stock FJ80 coils in the rear for about 3"-4" of lift on a stock coil sprung 4Runner.
I have this sort of thing before and it will work but leaf springs are a more stable and reliable setup.
Having a tall lift with the stock links creates rear steer when driving on the road. This makes it hard to drive.
To solve this you really need links that are about twice as long as the factory links. That would require a major redesign of the back of the runner.
Leaf springs don't have any noticeable rear steer and for that application would be my first choice for a streetable trail rig.

I am looking at getting your Trail Gear 4" or 5" for my 90 4Runner. But I was thinking about using Allpro's coil lift for the rear. They have all the drop brackets and stronger arms. I havn't found anything about rear steer on this setup. Does anyone know if that's a problem?
