I'm using a 5 leaf rear pack with no problem.
Any more than that might have issues at full droop.

Our steering will work on spring packs upto 1 3/4" thick.

just to make sure.. my leaf pack is 1 3/4" exactly.. and the trail gear crossover steering will fit? i was just concerned on the passenger side, where the axle leaf mount is higher on the axle..? thanks for the help, Ben
sorry about bringing up an old post, but at least ya know the search works

You are supposed to put a spacer on the DS of the axle to make them both the same height. Aftermarket springs are not arched different like the stock springs are. No spacer, it will lean to the DS.

yea, i have that gangster lean right now.. but more concerned with the steering being able to fit since my spring packs are 1 3/4" and that is the thickest allowable for the steering to fit.. if i were to add a spacer on the drivers side, it would be thicker.. but the height on the passenger side is equal to what the drivers side would be with the spacer which is more than an 1 3/4 when compared to the other side.. but the spring itself is only 1 3/4

AM wondering if you can use an hysteer kit on an 85 yota, with no lift?

you would need to switch to a different steering box.. the trucks that came with a solid axle pushed/pulled forward and back, and the crossover steering/ IFS/2wd model trucks use a push/pull to the left and right,I Think it is called saginaw, maybe?

just tolet you know you cant use crossover steering if you have pitch wedges under your leaf springs cause the axle rotates downward in the front which puts your drag link into the springs with ANY flex......how do i know???? cause im waitin for a $400 hi pinion front right now cause takin out the pitch wedges pushed my front driveshaft too far!! one thing leads to another........and i told the wife this would be a cheap year!!! ya right:thumbs:
