Water can get in a number of ways, through the knuckles, the vent or the diff.

All Toyota axles have this same breather from the factory. Over time these vents can fill with dirt, rust or become damaged. This is a replacment factory part.

If your vent is in good condition, there is no need to change it. If your vent is damaged or not working, this will fix the problem.

oh weird, i diddnt know that there was a valve in there, im not sure if mine is broken, i just know i can spin the cover.

I think that i will just do a breather hose.

I think a breather hose kit (fitting for the diff, few feet of clear hose, and small filter) would be a good seller as well. At least for those of us in a rainier climate.

I fully agree. I am sure we will have such a kit in the future.

Nissan Diff Breathers thread right into Toyota axles (not sure about axles past Tacoma models) and have a tube that you can fit 7/32" vacumn hose to. Part # (38323-C6010)

Thanks for the info rockalot :)

I have also heard that 1/8" NTP threads are very close to the stock holes so you could use an 1/8" NTP fitting with a mipple on the end to clamp some hose to.

I'll have to check the price on those Nissan breathers first though

No problem. Been runnin' them for 3-4 years and they haven't failed me yet. What's cool is that you can use vacuum hose fittings to connect all the hoses up. I run the F/R to a "Y" and then up to the firewall.

I was just going to ask why you don't sell the Nissan breathers as well. I am running these w/ my extended lines and they are much better then the stock ones. At least for those of us who actually wheel in areas where there is water/mud
