I will be venturing to Sierra that week for a little watersking at Shaver Lake. Maybe I can bring the Runner along too. :D

That would be great. This trail run is my favorite. Good crawling, challenging forest trail, great fishing. It is a little slice of heaven that everyone should experiance.

What is the MINIMUM this trail can be with? No lift IFS with a rear locker, maybe single 4.7 case, sliders and bumpers.??? And a slight disreguard for equiptment.

My brother did it last year with 33s, open front & rear, 4.7 t-case, no problems.

He didn't follow my line with that rig. As long as you can fit through the trees and rocks you can by-pass most of the crazy stuff, you just have to hammer down at about 5,500 rpm's up Thompson hill and hang on. But with care, or a wreckless disreguard for equipment you can squeeze an almost stock Toyota through the Dusy trail, if the weather lets you. Sounds like this trip is going to be fun. Can't wait, I know where some really cool rocks are up there.

4 wheel drive and sportutility magazine did an article on the dusy trail. they say theres good fishing, so it sounds like fun and the trail looks pretty gnarly too.

I don't know about trout, but I waterskied at Shaver last summer and it was a great trip. Shaver (elevation 5000) is on the way to the Dusy Trail. Kaiser Pass (elevation 7800) I believe is on or near the trail. There is a nice write up on the trail at the Inland Empire 4 Wheelers website including travel times. :D

Edit: After reading the article again, parts of the trail are above 10,000ft. :o

Depending on which lake we camp by, there are brook trout, rainbow trout, and golden trout and the fishing is great. The elevation is about 8,000 feet, maybe a little more when you summet a few of the peaks. Its a graet experiance, i can only compare it to the Rubicon trail.

Im down for the run. Im going to sign up tomarrow at work.

Is it the first to sign up to the front of the pack or just who ever gets in line is in that spot?

How many rigs are you expecting to show up?

Just kinda wondering. Kinda sucks being in the back when theres a bunch of rigs (dust, etc.)

As of today, you folks show only 18 rigs signed up. Is this right?!? I tend to avoid huge runs, but if you're looking at something smaller, that would be great.

18 rigs is correct as of now. We still have some time left before the run so there will probably be more people signing up.

I do not think that we have put a cap on the amount of rigs to go on the run though.
