Matt, My father and I will be starting near Loon Lake on Friday Morning. Come on along with us. It would be cool to get some video of your rig for TGTV. We will be on Channel 4. Let get together Friday morning.

I plan on being at the box on friday to hook up with you guys. I want a good camp site , one that comes witha fishing spot and lots of wood. i will save room for all of you guys. Is Spider lake still closed???

Spider is closed to vehicle travel the way I understand it. If you wanted to haul your camping gear over the hill you could. However that would be a major pain.
I plan to be up there the weekend of the 24th. Is that the weekend? I signed up to help on a FOTR work party that weekend up there.

Spider lake was closed when I went through late last seasion. You could walk to it be not drive to it. Buck Island lake may be a nicer place to camp.

Spider is the best place to camp, but I guess buck island is the only place open to camp, so then Buck island it is. It might be better for me to go straight to the springs find a camp and then get back to the box by late friday morning. just wondering how the traffic will be. Last year it was slow on thurs./ fri , but crazy on sat. I guess that will all depend on the weather. Does any know how the weather is up there??? Last year it snowed on thur. / fri. and rained when it was not freezing. But i still had a great time.

I plan on leaving Loon around 7:00-8:00 a.m. Friday. That should put me at the box around noon or so if everything goes smoothly. I'm sure I can have a fire. I'm not sure about you, I think Forestry is afraid you will drive thru it or something like that.

Chris,
Is your dad going to drive his truck. Or will he be riding shot gun with you.

Yes he will be driving his. I just finished SASing it and as soon as the drive shafts arrive he will be ready to hit the con. He will also be driving his truck on the Dusy trail too. Right after we installed the suspension, he put on a new set of 35" ProComp tires.
My son Brian will be with me in the Samurai.
