Hey guys the time has come to write the buildup page of my 1994 Toyota v6 pickup. Ive gone from stock, to 3" body lift, to 3" body lift and 4" procomp stage II. And ive hated IFS the whole time. So i finally got the cash to do the SAS. I went with the trail-gear ifs eliminator with 4" springs and 6" shackle. For the rear i went with the trail-gear 5" kit which will go on this upcoming weekend. I tried to take enough pictures to have a detailed build, if i left something out that you'd like to see, let me know and ill snap pictures from all angles possible. Here it goes
I started with a '85 front axle, cut off all of the stuff i didnt need and began welding on the diff armor and axle truss. Got it all cleaned up and painted a few days before the build so it was ready to go.

THURSDAY NIGHT
I decided to start the swap thursday night instead of friday so i began by pulling the truck into the garage and slowly but surely taking the IFS apart (had to be nice with it since i have sold the 4 inch lift thats on it). Everything came off nice and easy which was a pleasent surprise!! After we had all the bolt on peices off the truck we went crazy on it. My dad rented a plasma cutter to do the job. Wow what a machine that is! When all was said and done, i had the ifs off and the welded on brackets cut off with the plasma. Heres the pictures.

FRIDAY
Friday morning i began the worst part of the swap..... grinding, grinding, and the some more grinding! Even though it was no fun at all, it does make things look pretty nice so i guess its worth it. heres how the frame turned out

After I got the frame all cleaned up we drilled and cleaned up the area for the shackle hanger. After that was complete it was getting pretty late so we decided to call it a night. Though i had a little something else to do.... MOCK IT UP. haha i just had to see what it was going to look like with leaf springs under the front. So i clamped on the front spring hanger, and bolted the springs up to it and put the shackle on the back. Im thinking its going to be pretty sweet. Im really excited to get it finished up after seeing the springs on there!

SATURDAY
I got the hanger and shackle tubes welded on and began painting it up. I also hung the springs and axle for good. Everything went well to my liking!

MONDAY
Well i guess i missed a step in picture taking... mainly due to the fact that i got excited and wanted to get it out of the garage and forgot about the camera. Ill take the tires off and take pictures one of these days. On sunday My dad assembled the axles and i watched since i had no clue about anything within the axle. We called that a day. and Monday i welded up the shock hoops, bump stops, and steering stabalizer bracket. After that we painted it all up for good and bolted the tires on and drove it out of the garage for the first time with a solid axle under it. It didnt take but 5 minutes for me to get greedy and flex out on the loadin ramp in my driveway.yes we have a loading ramp, makes for a GREAT rti ramp haha. It was no where near high enough. its almost 3 feet tall and the front springs went anyway near maxed out. had at least 2 inches to the bumpstop and plenty of droop left.

Thanks for the compliments. And Matt, thanks for all the help and GREAT service!!! Im not sure how im going to do a front shaft. Im thinking about making a square one, but the angle is intense to say the least! Im ready to get this thing to where i can wheel it more then just mud pits. Around here there arent any rocks at all!!! its mud, trees, some more mud, and tree roots. Flex is definatly for the tree roots. I know most of you will laugh and say thats its a mall crawler and whatnot.... ill agree, i do make it purty but i also dont baby it. Just around here we cant get rock rash... cuz theres no rocks haha. Ill get the rear installed this weekend. and start bobbing the bed soon!

I have the same issue with the bad drive angle.
I will probably be taking the axle back out and clocking the pinion later this summer.

Thanks for the compliments. That rear bumper is from All-pro, if i were to do the truck again i would have built my own. It was pretty spendy for what it is.
