We just purchased a new test machine for twisting axles, output shafts, and drive shafts.

Check out this video clip as we feed this hungry monster....

I can't believe you would break axles without having some type of shield in place.

Great video, if someone had been hurt it could have been used in Jackass 3.

It's not a scary as it looks. We were hiding in the adjacent hallway behind some aluminum sheet. We will have a shield built for it soon.

so what type of birfs and shafts were they? stockers? also what angle were the birfs at?

30 spline longs vs. Dana 44 CTMs would be cool to see.
Also can't wait for ring gears.

Great job on the R&D efforts!

did he say 75,000 ft lbs of tq? hell even bobby longs are only rated at around 8,000 ft lbs of tq.

Why would that even be a reasonable load to test an axle/birf with?

GO BIG OR GO HOME!

We will be testing more than axles with this machine.

i hear ya...i realized after watching the video that it only took around 5300 ft lbs tq to grenade one of those at 35* if you don't mind, what axles were those? what else do you plan on testing with that thing?

We were testing stock front and rear axles in the video. We also plan to check out some output shafts and R&P gears and who knows what else!
