that was crazy, ok what did you guys break? i guess the smoke is why you got the new motor right?

The motor is an old one that has been run hard. The head gasket is gone and the motor has been put down for good. We pulled it out today and are getting ready to install the DOA motor soon.

We broke an edelbrock front shock. We were thinking of offering these for sale but after seeing this failure and another one before this event we are going to stick with Bilstein shocks. The other edelbrock shocks will be coming off the rig soon.

On one of the rolls, the front end hit a rock and broke off one of the hose lines going to the steering ram. I did a quick fix and plugged the ram lines to get the truck back on to the course before we started breakdown time. After one course we were able to locate a set of easy outs and were able to remove the broken fitting in the steering box. Once removed, it was easy to install a new fitting and hook up the steering ram again for the next course.

I got to be at the event on Saturday and really enjoyed watching you all wheel. Matts roll was impressive and I was really impressed that with a simple hose replacement you were up and running again. You all build a strong rig. congrats.
