Hey guys, This is my first zuk build. Have some serious questions! I built a Toyota but have moved to the zuk's and am lovin it so far! Its an 89 with a 91 sidekick motor (8valve 4cyl.), Toy axles front and rear, Toyota TRD E-Locker up front, Welded rear, Crossover Highsteering, and a custom job on the used to be tin top.
Now questions...the fuel pump is bad, it is located in the tank, stupid question but has anybody relocated and used external pumps to save the hassle? Also the toy rear axle has one junction for brake lines and the zuk has two...what do you guys do usually on these swaps? Well hopefully I can get some help and new ideas off of here! thanks for your time!

I did the swap also...Use an external fuel pump from a 1987 F150 with 302 engine. Be sure to get an inline fuel filter thats between the fuel tank and fuel pump. Hope this helps.

Can you use a stock zuk pump or is that not good enough? Can you keep the original tank and just change the Pumps? I allready have an inline filter installed. thanks

You need that pump b/c it pushes enough PSI to your injectors. The zuk pump does not and you will starve your engine of fuel. You can use the stock fuel tank still.

I talked to a couple ppl today who have done the swap before and they use the sidekick pump...its is the higher lb. pump.
Anyone have tips on the best way to run the rear break lines? the 2 soft zuk lines and one toyota solid T mount..thanks

I guess you can, Im not sure what the PSI rating is on that pump, but I know the one I stated earlier is more than enough and its cheap!!!! Not to say though that its the only pump that would work, Im sure there are lots of pumps that will work, but I chose that one bc its cheap and PSI rating is good. GL with your build.

I got the fuel pump in and it works...the motor hasn't been ran in a while and is running very hot. It seems like there isnt sufficient coolant flow, i took out the thermostat and it opened at 195 in water...im going to replace it anyways and hope that i can figure out what is going on...

Up And Running Great! Not Actually Overheating..The Guage Goes Up Quick And Maxes Out..But The Motor Is Not Overheating..Either A Short Or Bad Sensor Im Guessing...But It Is Not Allowing The Engine To Warm Up Correctly, It Automaticly Thinks Its Warm And Takes A While To Run Smooth..

Are you going to gusset up those front shackle hanges? Alot of unsupported overhang there.

Yes I Plan To Incorporate Them Into A Front Bumper.

Pretty sure they are out of a sidekick...just fab up some brackets for the sliders and your good to go. The arm rests are great!
Hopefully getting the new shock hoops and rear mounts put in tomorrow!

Latest... I started it up to trailer it to have the shock mounts welded on and hoops welded on...it has been running fine for the last week or two, and now it will idle fine but as soon as i try to move it dies in say 10 feet. My guess is distributor module or something like that, any ideas? thanks

Got the hoops in up front, need to gusset them still, finished the welding on the backside of the cab and will seal it all up with some plexi glass this weekend. Next is a Calmini Intake kit and Calmini Full Exaust kit along w/ some new carpet and door panels! Lots of work to do but getting closer.

go with a 180* tstat. instead of a 195*
check your ground wires that would be a good place to start for your eletrical problems
