Ok heres the deal, I am ready to get my front springs and I cant decide which springs to get, I have a 84 x-cab, four link rear, and I am gonna run 38x12.50x15 tsl's on a 8" rim, I wanna keep it as low as possable, so I am wanting to get the 3" spring but someone told me that there is no way I can run that tire size with a 3" spring, my fenders are cut way back and i plan on doing some cutting on the fender well, what do you guys think I should do? HELP!!!!

Have you pushed your axle forward any? If not your gonna have to tub it or something with 3" springs. If you can push your axle forward a couple inches you'll be golden.

I'm running T-G 3" springs up front with a Marlin Crawler spring hanger with 36X12.50 TSLs. They fit without rubbing at all, and I'm going to 38" TSLs when the 36s wear out. I think I can fit them with no problems at all.
A friend of mine ran 37x14?? Pit Bulls with the same exact front set up on his '94. Worked perfectly.
The combination of a new front hanger (Either T-G or Marlin) and T-G 3" springs moved my axle 3.5" forward from my stock IFS location, making big tires fit really easily. If you haven't moved you steering box forward you might need to do that to run this setup.

The reason you guys are fitting the bigger tire is because the ifs trucks will sit hire than non ifs truck. I think the ifs trucks sit 3" hire than the non ifs trucks thats why they can fit a bigger tire with less lift.

well after putting a lot of thought into it and talking to alot of people, I decided to go with the 3" springs, even though I was told by TG employee's and a friend of mine was told by TG employee's that I could not run a 3" spring with 38" tires I am gonna do it, I am not saying that they dont know what they are talking about, I just know with my set up I can make it work.

I run 37s on mine with no issues, but i did use the longer 6" length shackle. Set your bumpstops accordingly and run them.
3" springs up front. 6" long shackles.

38 inch tires will fit under the rig, with lots of clearancing and moving your box forward, but you will have just a few inches of clearance, so you wont get much flex before your tire bottoms out into the truck fender well. If thats ok then with you then have a good time with them. Make sure your steering links don't cross, and that they are not going to hit the leaf spring.
