Are you supposed to weld the sleeves to the frame? Or weld them in the brackets, then weld the brackets to the frame? Or not weld them at all. Also, is the side with the larger holes drilled in it the inside or outside?
Thanks

You use the jigs to mark the position on the frame. Drill the frame, then put the tubes into the frame and weld them in to position.
Do you have a copy of the install instructions?
If not you can see them here http://www.trail-gear.com/tech/sas-instructions/sas-instructions.html

No install instructions were sent with the set. I will look at the ones online.

I am in the same boat as no instructions for my IFS box were included either and unless I am totally missing something the provided link shows nothing about the IFS box mount.....

Ok I just reread this thread ( I thought you were asking about the frame tubes of the shackles).
You are correct there are no instructions for the IFS mount. The IFS steering box is already mounted on an ifs frame in the correct location. This stock steering box mount is a little weak and should be replaced if your planning to run larger than 35" tires.
Remove the upper mount on the frame. Weld the larger plates over the stock two lower holes. Slide the new upper tube and weld in place. Make sure that the surface under the steering box is completely flat before attaching the steering box. Grind as necessary to flatten the box mounting surface.
Creating a set of instructions with photos is on my list of things to do.

the larger holes go on the inside. what i do is tack the tubes to the plate(with the smaller holes) fit them up to make sure that the tubes and holes are where they go and fit where i want them. then i slide the inner plate on and recheck them. once all is good i fully weld(starting with the tubes to the plate).
if you are doing an 83 or older than you will need a larger sized C clamp to "press" the inner plate to the shape of the frame.
chris are you o k? you don't seem to let this kinda thing fall through the cracks.
