:confused:ive got a 1990 model samurai with a 1.3 fuel injected engine and im having a problem with my truck cranking but not wanting to start im an auto mechanic and ive gone through the proccess of elimination.its not my ignition switch-coil-distributor-alternator-nor is it my wiring???im getting fuel but no spark and my code is 41 witch is my ignition signal isnt bieng reached to the computer.im thinking since ive gone through everything else, that it might be my ecu.So my question is does anybody know what other ecu from another year model suzuki truck or car would have the same computer and 1.3litre engine as my sammi???if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated....thanks:help:

thanks for the advice ill check it out.do you know if they rebuild or offer brand new ecu's,just wondering cause as anybody thats ever had to buy one or the mechanic that had to put one in know's.they dont like to warrenty parts like that because of electrical shock and or misshandling of the product.or is it a question i should ask them when i inquire about one????

Don't know of to many places to buy a brand new one besides the dealer. Having one rebuilt through trail tough is as good as new. If you want one 2nd hand you can try car-part.com

well ive just checked my ecu and one of my resistor's look like it has gotten hot but not ruined so its not my ecu and im now at the end of my rope:giveup:.i noticed that i have kind of a Bass-Terd year sammi.it seems that in late 89 to 90 they were having some kind of a brain fart when introducing fuel injection to the samurai.so i have no clue what is wrong whith my truck?im starting to think that i should just pull my farely newly rebuilt 22re out of my runner and put it in the sammi?/or just do a 1.6 swap??????????anyone have any pro's and con's about either???????

the 16 valve 1.6 is the best engine ever built. though mines been built to the tune of 190 hp and treated to all the goodies course i run 37" tires, through an automatic tranny. ive heard good things about the yota swap but the 1.6 fits nicer and there are alot more resources for the conversion stick with suzuki just my .2cents

Light is good,But torque is what you want.Just think about the huge amounts of goodies for 22r engines.Plus if you do Toy drivetrain and 2 case's front driveline length is a lot better.I'm even thinking of a heavy flywheel from LC so I can creep at 2 to 300 RPM's.

I never would have thought. But I had an 07 Rover the other day that would shut down the Body ecu, spit codes, and limit to 30 mph because of a fried stop/turn bulb! Glad you found it.

:(well the truck has been down for about 3 weeks now.i still dont know what would be causing it to act up.after i thought i fixed the problem the truck ran great for a few weeks then one day i decided to remove my battery and clean up some spilled acid, i mounted my computer back to the firewall and cleaned up the acid threw the battery back in, and the same thing happened,i was getting no spark.is there anyone out there that can help? i keep getting a code41 no ignition signal i checked the usual culprit's switch-coil-computer-distributor-whole engine and dash harness for damage and came up with nothing??????im lost with whats wrong with thing.:thud:

Any wiring issues I've ever hed in my zuks were in the harnes just behind the battery. Spilled acid over the years soaks through the insulation on the wires and corodes from the inside out. Its worth pulling the cover off the harness and checking. Right where itcomes behind the battery and makes a 90* turn going down, grab each wire and tugg. stretch the wires and you'll probably find a few that you can pull in two or you wiil find some that are really fat in that area due to the crap under the insulation.
