spring perch

I am doing a SAS on a 99 4runner 3.4 using a 95 LC axle and TG 3" lift springs. Is there a best length for the spring perch? This is my first build and I can't seem to find this information.

A standard aftermarket spring perch is about 6" long. If you use a longer spring perch it will slightly reduce axle wrap but also slightly reduce suspension flex. I don't recommend going shorter than 6" or longer than 8".

I had planned on going 6". Does the u-bolt plate need to be the same length as the perch? Thanks for the quick reply.

U bolt length depends on the thickness of the springs. If you purchase Trail-Gear springs, u-bolts and perches then it will all work together.
