Frames on both sides are spot welded to the door on the 74 FJ40 that I am working on. (only welded on outside area) I am getting ready to replace the glass and it looks like these frames are supposed to be removeable (slide up and out) of the door.
Is this weld "factory" ? If not, I guess I need to grind it down to get the window frame up and out to replace the glass and the regulator ? Thanks, BT |

Now I know why prev owner made the weld. The door panel is fatigued from an impact and has popped out about 1/2" now that it is back together. Where the two door panels overlap (under the vent window) I might be able to install a pop rivet there ... Waiting on new screws then I will look at it again.
